고양특례시가 택시운수업계와 소통을 강화하고 현장의 목소리를 반영한 교통체계 개선에 나선다.

고양시는 지난 24일 시청 열린시장실에서 민경선 고양특례시장과 관내 택시운수업계 대표단이 참석한 가운데 현장 간담회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 간담회에는 민경선 시장을 비롯해 편창대 고양시개인택시조합장, 이귀훈 고양시법인택시연합회장 등이 참석해 택시산업 발전과 운행 환경 개선, 시민 교통편의 증진을 위한 다양한 의견을 나눴다.

택시업계 대표단은 운행 안전성을 높이고 서비스 질을 향상하기 위한 실질적인 지원책 마련을 요청했다. 

편창대 개인택시조합장은 특히 노후택시 대폐차 사업 지원과 신규 블랙박스 설치 지원 사업 등을 시 차원에서 적극 검토해 줄 것을 건의했다.

민경선 시장은 건의사항을 면밀히 검토하겠다고 밝히며 택시기사들의 현장 경험과 역할을 강조했다.

민 시장은 “택시기사들은 매일 도로 위에서 고양시의 교통 상황을 가장 가까이서 살피는 교통 전문가”라며 “운행 과정에서 체감하는 상습 정체 구간과 교통 불편 지점 등 현장 정보는 앞으로 교통정책을 보완하는 데 소중한 자산”이라고 말했다.

특히 민 시장은 실효성 있는 교통대책 마련을 위해 택시기사와 경찰, 고양시 등 관계기관이 함께 참여하는 ‘고양시 교통체계 및 불편 개선 간담회’ 개최를 제안했다.

이는 택시업계가 현장에서 체감하는 교통 문제를 관계기관과 공유하고, 문제 지역별 개선 방안을 함께 논의하는 상시 소통 창구를 마련하자는 취지다.
