파주시가 군내면 백연리 일원의 정주 여건을 개선하고 공공수역의 수질을 보전하기 위한 ‘백연리 농어촌마을하수도 정비사업’에 본격 착수했다.

파주시는 지난 12일 백연리 농어촌마을하수도 정비사업을 공식 착공했다고 밝혔다. 

이번 사업은 기존 개별 정화조나 개인오수처리시설을 이용하던 하수처리 방식을 개선해 생활오수를 공공하수처리시설로 직접 유입·처리하는 현대식 하수도 시스템을 구축하는 사업이다.

시는 사업을 통해 하루 150㎥의 오수를 처리할 수 있는 하수처리시설을 새롭게 설치하고, 약 3.69㎞에 이르는 하수관로를 구축한다. 

아울러 115가구의 배수설비를 연결해 주민들이 보다 안정적인 하수처리 서비스를 이용할 수 있도록 할 계획이다.

총사업비는 약 118억 원으로 국비 64%, 도비 13.7%, 시비 22.3%가 투입된다.

파주시는 지난 2021년 하수도 분야 국고보조사업에 선정돼 사업 추진을 위한 재원을 확보했으며, 올해 3월 기본 및 실시설계 용역을 완료했다.

사업은 오는 2028년 하반기 준공을 목표로 추진된다. 

사업이 완료되면 백연리 지역의 하수처리 기반시설이 크게 확충돼 주민들의 생활환경 개선은 물론 생활오수의 안정적인 처리를 통한 하천 등 공공수역의 수질 보전에도 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
