파주시가 장마철 안전사고 예방을 위해 임시 중단했던 ‘디엠지(DMZ) 평화의 길 테마노선 파주 코스’를 오는 9월 2일부터 다시 운영한다.

‘DMZ 평화의 길’은 비무장지대(DMZ)를 평화와 생태의 공간으로 조성하기 위한 취지로 마련된 탐방 프로그램이다. 

평소 일반인에게 개방되지 않는 철책길을 직접 걸으며 DMZ의 역사와 생태환경을 체험할 수 있다는 점에서 관심을 받고 있다.

파주 코스는 임진각을 출발점으로 모두 2개 노선으로 운영된다.

1코스는 임진각에서 출발해 생태탐방로를 거쳐 도라전망대와 도라산평화공원을 둘러보는 일정이다. 

평일 오전과 주말에 운영되며, DMZ의 자연환경과 평화의 의미를 함께 살펴볼 수 있도록 구성됐다.

2코스는 임진각을 출발해 생태탐방로, 제3땅굴, 도라산역, 남북출입사무소 출입경 등을 둘러보는 코스로, 평일 오후에 운영된다.

프로그램은 매주 수요일부터 금요일까지 하루 2회 진행되며, 안전하고 원활한 탐방을 위해 회당 참여 인원은 20명으로 제한된다.
